This monument bearing the likeness of Jean Drapeau, mayor of Montreal from 1954 to 1957 and from 1960 to 1986, was installed in 2001 in the creation of this character, the artist relied on extensive photographic documentation and was guided by comments from friends of Mr. Drapeau. The bronze statue is placed on one level, ready to welcome visitors, as so often said Jean Drapeau during his years as mayor of Montreal. Dimensions of 2.47 meters. The presence of this monument in front of City Hall, said the close relationship that Mayor Jean Drapeau has forged between Montrealers and the municipal government for nearly 30 years. This image of “Mayor” perpetuates the image of public figure, addressing his constituents and stakeholders in a move that was typical him, arms and hands punctuating the speech.
