The Parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière is a nature haven at the heart of Lévis. Numerous lookout points offer breathtaking views of the 35 metre-high waterfalls. Picnic areas, a footbridge suspended over the river, 4.5 km of hiking trails and 1.5 km of bicycle paths, a playground for children and outdoor concerts are all attractions the general public will enjoy. The site was used in the early 20th century for its hydroelectric potential. The current dam, rebuilt in 1999 on the remains of the old facility, supplies a new small 24 MW power station. Inter pretation panels. Open daily, from May to October. Night parking is not allowed (between 9:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.).
