Dorwin Falls Park

Rawdon ( Lanaudière )

Come visit the enchanting Dorwin falls park. From the two lookouts, you can observe the spirit of the falls, inspiration for an Amerindian legend. Relax along the banks of the Ouareau River and admire the beautiful plants and animals. Domestic animals are prohibited in the park.

Discover the spectacular Dorwin Waterfalls on the Ouareau River in Rawdon Lanaudière and be charmed by the Nipissingue sorcerer ledged. There is 2.5 km of ecological trails and a picnic area under ancient pine trees.
Some people say Darwin, others Dorwin name. Dorwin seems right since it perpetuates the memory of Judehia Hobebel Dorwin former owner of the land and lumber yard. Mrs. James Ross gave the land to the municipality in 1944 and later it was granted officially to the Minister of Tourism. On may 16th, 1967, it became a recreational park.
Dorwin Waterfalls are one of Quebec’s most spectacular sites! Thousands of nature lovers come each year to admire the magnificent 60 feet falls. In spite of the beauty of the site, it still can be very dangerous near the river; humid and slippery rocks, sly and fast currents, dangerous and unstable cliffs and steep slopes.
